GreenDay
June 12-13, 2010. Radioamateurs of the whole world to protect the nature and environment.
WFF GreenDay 2010 – A «Green» Day of activity under Biological Diversity Year.
Within the framework of the annual worldwide nature protection action the Day of Activity, «WFF GreenDay 2010» is being organized. The radio-amateurs of the whole world are invited to join us by having QSOs with radio-stations working from territories of the national natural parks and reserves of the world – Especially Protected Nature Territories (EPNT) – included into the WFF Directory (see WFF Directory:
http://www.wff44.com/en/list/).
Founder and organizer: Nature and Environment Protection Foundation «World Flora Fauna».
Motto: «Let’s save the green planet Earth!».
Radioamateurs of the whole world act together to save the nature and its environment by participating in the WFF activities and programs.
Radio amateur code 44! The figure «4» symbolizes four elements: the earth, water, air and fire.
Sending on air the radio amateur code in the form of 2 figures «44!», is the WFF Foundation’s motto. It became a kind of tradition of the thousands of hams from different countries of the world and it reflected their relation to the preservation of Planet Earth and to aspire to live together with nature.
It is always welcomed to send and receive «44» during QSOs with the WFF DX-peditions.

1. It is strongly recommended to the «GreenDay 2010» participants of the subgroups E, E1, E2 and F not having special call-signs will send ‘’/FF’’ (Flora Fauna) after a call-sign for correct identification of the WFF-stations.
2. It is recommended to the «GreenDay 2010» participants of the subgroups E, E1, E2 and F who have special call-signs, to use own (home) call-signs working before and after official part of the GD activity.
3. In order to promote the «green» ideas among international radioamateur community including among the participants of the subgroups E, E1, E2 and F, a separate competition will be arranged with a nomination «Green Expedition». If an expedition intends to be considered for a Green Expedition status, it will have to provide a real and feasible contribution in the Earth Planet preservation.
CQ-ing: It is recommended to send «CQ GreenDay» in SSB and «CQ GD» in CW.
Exchange Numbers: The stations working from territories of the national parks and reserves are sending RST (RS) and WFF directory number (for example 599 RFF120). It is not necessary to send a WFF directory number during each QSO, but at least once per 3 QSOs. It is also recommended to send a WFF directory number during CQ ing , for example «CQ de UE1WFF RFF120». All other participants will send RST (RS).
It is recommended to send «44» at the end of a QSO.
Conducting of QSOs (SWLs): QSOs with the same station during GreenDay are allowed on different bands and on the same band but in different modes. Mixed QSOs are not allowed. It is allowed to have normal QSO and to exchange ordinary information depending on the current situation. For SWLs any contact is accepted if both call-signs and exchange numbers are received.
Points:
- For the radio station working under the WFF Program from a territory of a national park or reserve – 1 point per each QSO;
- For the rest participants only QSOs with correspondents of the subgroups E, E1, E2 and F are allowed, i.e. with the radio-stations working under the WFF Program from the territories of the National Parks and Reserves. Each QSO – 1 point.
- Points for SWLs are the same.
- For QSOs with the radio-stations worked under the WFF Program from the territories of the National Parks and Reserves but not submitted their logs the points will be not given.
Multipliers:
- For subgroups A, A1, A2, A3, B, C, D each QSO with each National Park or Reserve under the WFF Program gives one point for multiplier on each band once irrespective of a mode.
- For subgroups E, E1, E2, E3 and F a QSO with each DXCC-territory gives one point for a multiplier once on each band irrespective of a mode.
Scoring: The final score is a result of the total QSO points multiplied by the sum of multipliers.
Awards: Trophy – to the best in each subgroup of GreenDay 2010. The participants who have the highest score in each subgroup will be awarded by Diplomas. All participants of WFF expeditions will be awarded special Diplomas for participation in WFF GreenDays. A special prize will be given to a team in the F subgroup if they afterwards provide a full report (an article, photos or a video file) about that expedition. Besides, the sponsors provide special prizes – 3 grades plaques for the best WFF GreenDay expeditions, and free print-out of the WFF styled QSLs. All diplomas will be printed on an ecologically pure paper, and awards are made of secondary raw materials.

• to make feeding troughs for birds or animals;
• to use an ecological way of movement (the pedestrian, vessel boat, bicycle, trip bus, non-polluting car/hybrid);
• to use pure renewed energy sources – wind, solar, geothermal, tidal and hydropower – as primary energy sources for which the wind, water and the Sun are serving;
• to establish «guardianship» over a bird or an animal in any EPNT;
• to render any other help.
If an expedition intends to be considered for a Green Expedition status, it will be necessary to specify within their report which action on the Earth Planet preservation has been undertaken by participants and to outline a written acknowledgement from the EPNT management confirming the fact of the real contribution (to specify what), as well as photos or video materials from a place of events.
